Anhinga chicks wake up from a nap as their mother arrives for mealtime at a small rookery in Sarasota. The Venice Area Audubon Rookery is the home of families of herons, egrets, ibis, pelicans and you may even see a small alligator in the mix. In the winter and spring the small island comes alive with nesting shore birds.
