TWO SPOONS ARE BETTER THAN ONE  2688
I wish I could say that every frame I shoot is intentional. As the shutter is released I like to think that I have some idea of what to expect when I sit down to edit my photos. But one of the joys of photography is when that unseen moment, captured in fractions of a second, appears. It is like finding a buried treasure, an unexpected gem that can never be recreated or really planned. This Roseate Spoonbill took flight as I was shooting it perched in a tree at Neal Preserve. I kept shooting as it flew by. The morning sun cast a shadow of the bird’s head across its flowing pink wing, and I did not see it until later that day. Sometimes you don’t really know what you have until you look.
